The HP 8720 works fin with Windows 10 PC with all current updates. I find it to be strange because M1 unit has no problem driving the 2019 model 8740 printer with the same configuration. I keep getting a message like "Some of the software for the printer is missing" and to contact the printer manufacturer for the latest compatible software. Then I realized that the 2019 HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 did not work with the M1 MacBook Pro. Restoring my data to the new M1 was trouble free except I could not get the new M1 chip unit to drive my trusty old 30" Apple Cinema HD with the DVI-Dual Link input. The old 2013 unit had no problems but it was getting long in the tooth, as they say and I was worried it might fail suddenly, it is over 7 years old.
